A smokehouse born from obsession. Built on patience, real wood, and the belief that great charcuterie does not need to come from Europe.

The Beginning

Uncle Rustom has always loved cured meats. The kind you find tucked away in old delis in Goa, or the kind your grandfather used to bring back from trips abroad. The kind that takes time, care, and a little fire.

When he could not find that quality in Pune — not consistently, not affordably — he decided to make it himself. What started as a backyard experiment with hickory chips and a borrowed thermometer became a years-long obsession with brining, curing, and the science of smoke.

Today, Uncle Rustom's Smokehouse and Deli produces artisan smoked meats out of a dedicated kitchen in Sopan Baug. Everything is still small-batch, still hand-crafted, and still made the slow way.

2018

The First Smoke

Uncle Rustom started experimenting with cold-smoking in a small backyard setup in Sopan Baug, Pune — using hickory wood chips sourced from a single trusted supplier.

2020

Word Gets Out

Friends, neighbours, and their neighbours kept coming back. The ham went first, always. A WhatsApp group became the unofficial order channel.

2022

The Smokehouse Is Born

A proper cold-room, a curing chamber, and a wood-fired smokehouse. The operation moved from passion project to a real artisan kitchen — still small, still personal.

2024

Pune Discovers Us

B2B partners, weekend markets, and a loyal home-delivery customer base. Every product still made in small batches, cured by hand, smoked slowly the way it should be.
